Austin is gearing up for a streak of sunny skies and rising temperatures. According to the National Weather Service, today will shine bright with a high of around 78 degrees and light south winds picking up to 10 mph in the afternoon. The warm spell is expected to carry on over the weekend, with the weather progressively heating up, hitting highs in the low 80s. However, the nighttime will see increasing clouds, with a low hovering around the mid-50s to 60s.

With the area experiencing dry conditions and low humidity, locals have the perfect opportunity to spend their day outdoors. The KXAN forecast suggests that the southerly winds will notch up the temperatures and humidity from Friday into the weekend, but no rain is in sight through Sunday. Despite the temperate daytime highs, mornings will start on a chillier note with possible fog early Easter Sunday, so early risers for sunrise services, taking place at 7:20 a.m., should prep for cooler temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s.

Easter Sunday promises to be a suitable backdrop for celebratory shindigs. Although the skies are expected to be chiefly clouded, the mercury will hit the 80s, setting the scene for the holiday's egg hunts and family gatherings – dry and on the muggier side. As stated by KXAN, the cloudy veil over the sun at dawn could cause visibility issues with potential fog, but this should not deter the festive spirit of the day.

Looking ahead, Monday's mostly cloudy ambiance will keep temperatures near the high 80s, and while much of the day will stay dry, rain could enter the picture Monday night. "A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1am," reports the National Weather Service, foreshadowing a potential plot twist to the week's sunny tale. The forthcoming cold front is anticipated to usher in a few showers into Tuesday, giving a breather to the extended warm period that residents have been basking in.
