AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Texas Tech School University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing established a new research center.

University officials said the university had the grand opening for the Center for Nursing Research, Collaboration and Innovation. The goal of the center is to effort the support of professional development of researchers and to provide the infrastructure for faculty and staff to write manuscripts and grants.

“Research, especially the research I do with people in the community requires the community to say ‘okay, this looks good, this sounds good, yes we’ll participate.’ and so that’s very very important,” said Alyce Ashcraft, TTUHSC School of Nursing Associate Dean for Research and Scholarship.

The center is located in Lubbock and students and faculty at other campuses will have access to the research work conducted there said Ashcraft.
