AUSTIN (KXAN) — Travis County said it expected its parks, which will be open as normal, to be busy March 31 for Easter.

The county encouraged residents to plan ahead and arrive early for the holiday.

“Easter is one of the busiest days for the entire Travis County Parks system,” the county said.

To help protect the environment, Travis County asked that park visitors not bring confetti eggs that contain plastic confetti.

The county issued a reminder that the parks with day-use fees only accept cash, and credit or debit cards would not be accepted at those entrance booths.

If a park reaches maximum capacity, it will be closed, according to a statement.

“A closure notice will be posted to that specific park’s webpage, and additional visitors will not be allowed in for the day. Visitors will not be allowed to park elsewhere and walk in, and those who leave the park while it’s at capacity will not be able to re-enter,” the county said.
