Forecast: Scattered storm chances continue through mid-week
Here are the latest updates from the KVUE Weather Team. Scattered to numerous showers and storms are expected to develop across Central Texas mid-week, with a potential for strong storms. These storms could be strong to severe with hail and strong winds, potentially leading to localized flooding. High temperatures could reach 101 degrees in Austin, Texas. Additional scattered storms are possible for Wednesday, but the forecast is expected to trend drier and hotter for the late week into the weekend. Highs are forecast to reach the upper 90s Saturday and Sunday.

AUSTIN, Texas — An unsettled weather pattern continues through mid-week here in Central Texas and brings the potential for a few strong storms Tuesday.
It looks more likely that scattered to numerous showers and storms will develop Tuesday afternoon into the early evening. The chance for storms during the late day is up to 40%.
There is a chance some of these storms could be strong to severe with hail and strong winds. Localized flooding is also possible. There is a level 2 of 5 severe risk today for the Hill Country and a level 1 of 5 risk for the rest of the KVUE area.
Afternoon highs peak in the lower to mid-90s Tuesday, but "feels like" temperatures could climb as high as 101 degrees in Austin. Temperatures trend even lower for Wednesday with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s.
Additional scattered storms will be possible Wednesday but high pressure returns and our forecast trends drier and hotter for the late week into this weekend. Highs are forecast to climb to the upper 90s Saturday and Sunday.
TUESDAY:
40% PM showers and storms, mainly during the late afternoon and evening. One or two storms could be severe. Partly cloudy. East wind at 5 to 10 mph.
