Born Channing Nicole Larry, Enchanting was signed to Atlanta artist Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records. She signed her deal in 2020 but left the label last year.
The exact causes of her death are unknown. According to Billboard, the artist was on life support.
Gucci Mane: 'So sad to have to say R.I.P to such a great young lady'
On Tuesday, June 11, Gucci Mane (born Radric Delantic Davis) confirmed the death of his protégée via social media.
"So sad to have to say R.I.P to such a great young lady," Mane wrote alongside a photo of Enchanting. "A true star. We('re) (going to) all miss you Chant."
Her fans also expressed their condolences via social media.
She was known for her aggressive rap style but there was a softer side to the artist. In a profile story from 2022, Essence magazine highlighted Enchanting's singing skills. She was also mentored by fellow Texas rap legend, The D.O.C.
“I went through a phase of doing absolutely everything. Like, I was a cheerleader, I was into sports at one point,” she told Essence. “I was doing hair at one point, I tried to do nails."
“I had a friend, he had a friend that owned a studio and people knew that I could sing, I didn’t really start posting me singing ’til like later in high school. With the singing, that’s my natural habitat…I been doing R&B music for years now, I literally just started rapping when I signed to Gucci.”
