Jury acquits man accused of murdering Travis County constable's son
A Travis County jury has acquitted a man accused of murdering a constable's son. Stacey Easley, 52, was indicted in 2023 for the murder of Travis County Precinct One Constable Johnny Edmonson, the son of Precinct 1 Constable Tonya Nixon. A jury acquitted Easley after deliberating for several days and returned a not guilty verdict. Edmonsons was reportedly shot in a domestic disturbance. According to arrest paperwork, a witness told police that Easley shot him in the incident. Travis County DA Jose Garza expressed his appreciation for the jury's verdict and sympathizes with Edmonon's family.

In May 2023, 52-year-old Stacey Easley was indicted for the March 2023 shooting death of Johnny Edmonson.
Edmonson is the son of Travis County Precinct One Constable Tonya Nixon.

Jury selection in this case began Monday, March 25 with testimony taking place throughout the week. On Thursday, the jury deliberated and returned a not guilty verdict.
