East Austin man arrested for allegedly killing roommate after argument, police say
A man was arrested after allegedly killing his roommate at an apartment in east Austin last week.Austin police officers responded to the Fort Branch Apartments, Isidro Sanchez Navarrette, a man from east Austin, has been arrested for allegedly murdering his roommate, Joe Santos Gonzales, 40, at an apartment in east Austin. The incident occurred at the Fort Branch Apartments on March 19. Police believe the two roommates had an argument prior to the shooting and death of Gonzales. Navarretta was arrested by members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and is currently being held on a $650,000 bond at the Travis County Correctional Complex.

A man was arrested after allegedly killing his roommate at an apartment in east Austin last week.
Austin police officers responded to the Fort Branch Apartments, located at 5800 Techni Center Dr., at 11:17 p.m. on March 19.
First responders found Joe Santos Gonzales, 40, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
“Detectives believe that Santos Gonzales and the suspect, Isidro Sanchez Navarrette, were roommates, and had gotten into a verbal argument leading up to the shooting and death of Santos Gonzales,” the Austin Police Department said.
Members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested Navarette. He is charged with murder and is being held at the Travis County Correctional Complex on a cumulative $650,000 bond.
