Men's Tennis Downed at Southwestern - Concordia University Texas Athletics
GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Concordia Texas men's tennis team against 42nd-ranked Southwestern University. The Tornados won three singles matches at the Southwestern Univerisity Tennis Courts on Wednesday. The Concordia University Texas men's tennis team defeated 42nd-ranked Southwestern University in a match at the Southwestern Univerisity Tennis Courts. The Pirates won an 8-6 decision on line one of doubles, followed by a pair of 8-7 wins to sweep doubles. Kishan Kersten and Joeri Bergman scored early victories for Concordia Texas, while Steven Scholz won a tree-set triumph (6-3, 3-6, 6-3). Southwestern won 7-5, 7-6 on line five. The final two matches of the night saw Joshua Bode & Adrian Munguia compete in three-set marathons that lasted over two hours each. Concordia will return to action against Hardin-Simmons on Saturday, April 6th.

The Pirates won an 8-6 decision on line one of doubles, before claiming of pair of 8-7 wins to sweep doubles. Kishan Kersten put the Tornados on the board with a 6-3, 6-4 win on court four, and Joeri Bergman followed suit with a 6-3, 7-6 win on line six.
A tree-set triumph by Steven Scholz (6-3, 3-6, 6-3) knotted the series up at 3-all. Southwestern went back up 4-3 with a narrow 7-5, 7-6 win on line five.
Down to the final two matches of the night, Joshua Bode & Adrian Munguia competed in a pair of three-set marathons that lasted over two hours each. Southwestern would claim both matches to escape with the victory.
Concordia Texas will now resume ASC action this Saturday, April 6th where they will host Hardin-Simmons for Senior Day. First serve at the River Place Country Club is set for 2pm.
