Judge gives man 45 years for murder, aggravated assault charges

A man was convicted and sentenced March 19 after pleading guilty to murder in connection with a June 2022 offense, according to Williamson County court documents. Stephen Sanchez, 21, was sentenced to 45 years in state prison for murder and aggravated assault charges in connection with the death of 16-year-old Adrian Curiel. Sanchez was also convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and sentenced to serve 20 years in relation to the charge. The sentences will run concurrently and Sanchez will receive a jail credit of 646 days.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — A man was convicted and sentenced March 19 after pleading guilty to murder in connection with a June 2022 offense, according to Williamson County court documents.

Records showed 21-year-old Stephen Sanchez, Jr. was sentenced to serve 45 years in state prison. The sentence was in connection with the death of 16-year-old Adrian Curiel.

According to documents, Sanchez was also convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and sentenced to serve 20 years in connection with the charge. The sentences for each charge will run concurrently.

Toward his sentence, Sanchez would receive a jail credit of 646 days, according to records.
