Trump rallies for GOP in Texas visit
AUSTIN, Texas -- President Donald Trump was in Texas for the third time in a month Tuesday in a last-minute push to block Democrats from notching their first statewide election victory in more than three decades in next week's midterm elections. President Donald Trump has rallied for Republican Ken Paxton's U.S. Senate campaign against Democrat James Talarico in Texas. This is part of a last-minute effort to prevent Democrats from securing their first statewide election victory in over three decades in the midterms. The president used cultural issues to portray Talario as too liberal for Texas. He also mentioned billionaire Elon Musk, who founded Tesla and SpaceX in Texas and has invested at least $158 million into defeating Talaric. Both parties have poured money into the state, where both Paxton and Talarica have faced tough contests. Vice President JD Vance also made a stop in Michigan.
