AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas baseball team was upended in a doubleheader against UT Dallas. Colby Christian powered his fourth homer of the season at the UT Dallas Baseball Field on Thursday.

The Tornados got on the board first with a pair of RBIs from Christian & Chris Morrow to score Julian Swift & Efren Sanchez Jr. in the third. The Comets answered in the bottom of the frame with two runs of their own to tie the game at 2-2.

UT Dallas then added another two runs in the fourth for a two-run advantage. Down to the final out of the game, Zach Seigrist gave CTX life with a double down the left field line to put the tying run at the plate. The Comets would be able to survive the comeback effort with a lineout catch at third for the final out of the game.

Concordia got on the board first with a RBI by Swift to score Seigrist in the top of the third, but UT Dallas once again responded with a run of their own in the bottom of the frame. CTX reclaimed the lead in the fifth with another RBI by Swift that scored Aaron Gomez.

Christian's homerun in the sixth pushed the Tornados' advantage, before Seigrist singled through the right side to send Mason DuBois home in the seventh. The Comets cut the deficit in half at 4-2 with a run in the eighth.

Down to their final two outs in the bottom of the ninth, the Comets loaded the bases. Their batter hit a shallow fly ball to center field, but the fielder's throw would sail away from the infield and into the dugout for a two-base error rule to be enforced and send the game into extra innings.

Both teams would get runners on base through the next three frames, but beautiful defensive play by both parties kept the score 4-all. Ultimately the Comets would walk off with the victory in the 13th inning.

Concordia Texas will now look to claim game three against UT Dallas tomorrow. First pitch is set for noon.
