6 Texas Longhorns Freshmen That Should Get Major Playing Time vs. Michigan
Texas' youth and depth will get its chance to shine against the Michigan Wolverines on New Year's Eve. The Cheez-It Citrus Bowl matchup against Michigan is seen as a 2026 preseason game for the Texas Longhorns, as much as a 2025 finale. The game will allow head coach Steve Sarkisian to evaluate this year's depth and youth players for potential bigger roles in 2026. This includes a number of true freshmen who arrived as highly rated recruits who have not yet received much on-field exposure this season. Players such as Terry, Lockett, and Ffrench are expected to shine in the upcoming game. The linebacker room is also undermanned due to the exits of Anthony Hill Jr., Trey Moore and Liona Lefau.
